The Nanda Devi Sanctuary situated in Garhwal Himalayas of India is one of a unique geographical feature. Mt Nanda Devi is second highest peak of India with elevation of 7816 mtrs. Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, established as a national park in 1982 situated around the peak of Nanda Devi. The National Park was inscribed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988. It was later expanded and renamed as Nanda Devi and Valley of Flowers National Parks in 2005.The park is rich of its flora & fauna and this trek itinerary gives you a chance to explore some unexplored beauty of great Himalayan region.

Day 1: Arrive Delhi

Welcome to India, country of culture, heritage, nature & hospitality. Our Representative will receive and greet you. With a rich tapestry of tradition, culture and architecture, Delhi’s white tree line avenues, imposing colonial buildings and notable gardens speak eloquently of its 5000 year history.

Arrive and transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2: Delhi to Rishikesh (230 kms/6 hrs)

Drive to Rishikesh – a Yoga city of Himalayas. On the way visit Haridwar a holy city. After arrival in Rishikesh, Witness the Ganges worship ceremony Puja (Evening Aarti) in Ghat.

Arrive and check in at hotel for overnight stay.

Day 3: Rishikesh – Joshimath (270 Kms/8-9 Hrs)

Drive along the Ganges and Alaknanda rivers in a private car and gradually increase in altitude to Joshimath (1,890m) situated in Chamoli district having various beautiful and ancient temples.

Arrive and check in at hotel for overnight stay.

Day 4: Day Visit to Auli Gorson Hike.

A day hike to Gorson Buggyal from Auli. One of the largest meadow in Garhwal Himalaya region attracts many nature & mountain lovers. Spend the time and have magnificent panoramic view of Mt Nanda Devi, Mt Dronagiri etc.

Later return to Joshimath for overnight stay.

Day 5 : Joshimath – Lata Village (2317 mts)

Drive to Lata Road head. Drive 3 hours to reach road head Lata from Joshimath. Prepare for trek, porters are ready to start a memorable trip for you, start the trek a steep hike till Lata Village, duration 1 hours, further visit Lata Nandadevi Temple and Village, later trek to Belta a small camp side near forest zone. Trek 1 or 2 hours from Lata Village. Stay at Tents.

Day 6 : Trek to Lata Kharak (3689 meter ) (9kms/ 6hrs)

The trail from Lata village is distinctive through forest of Oak, Rhododendron and Pine to a ridge followed by a traverse to cross a side stream. After this you climb over another ridge and continue to another side stream. After crossing the side streamthe trail now becomes more incline, with a series of switch backs to the campsite at Lata Kharak. The walk of the day is challenging at times, but the view of the peaks i.e. Hanuman, Hathi Godhi cherishes the spirits. The campsite is an open space on ridge top with Himalayan peaks i.e. Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, Dronagiri, Hathi Ghodi and Dev Sthan all around. Overnight in the tents at Lata Kharak.

Time taken : 6 hours trek

Day 7 : Lata Kharak – Saini Kharak – Lata Kharak

Trek to Saini kharak and back to Dhrassi Pass. Trek 3 km to Saini kharak point to get the excellent view of Mt. Nandadevi and Rishi Ganga gorge. Back to Lata Kharak Camp

Day 8 : Lata Kharak – Dharansi Pass (4250 meter)

Wake up at dawn to breathtaking view of Mount Bithartoli-Himal (6354 m), Nanda Ghunti (6309 m), Ranthi Peak (6003 m) Dronagiri (7066 m) and the vast view of Kunwari pass, Auli, Urgam Valley and Lata Village. After breakfast, the trek begins with a steep climb up to Jhandi Dhar and further up to Bagfyana pass. From Bagfyana, the trail passes through a very narrow gorge of Satkula with steep ascents and descents and finally one arrives at the meadows of Dharansi pass where we stop for the night.

Overnight in tents at Dharansi Pass.

Day 9 : Dharansi Pass – Debrugheta – Dharansi Pass

Like the inner sanctuary, the prominent Malthuni-Bethartoli ridge, between Dharansi Pass and Debrugheta, divides the outer sanctuary. Both these ridges form a magnificent Pass to Rani Kholi. Up to Donidhar is a gradual descent and then from Donidhar to Debrugheta is a steep descent of 750 mts. till one crosses the improvised bridge over the stream. Afternoon return trek to Dharansi Pass.

Overnight in tents at Debrugheta.

Time taken : 5 hours trek

Day 10 : Dharansi Pass – Hitoli Camp Site (2161 meter)

Return trek of about 7 km up to Jhandi Dhar and further steep descent of 4 km, through the rich forest of rhododendron, birch and raga fir.

Overnight in tents at Hitoli Camp Site.

Distance : 11 Kms
Time taken : 6 hours trek

Day 11 : Trek to road head via Tolma Village (8kms)

After breakfast, a 5 km trek down to Tolma village through the rich forest of Thuner, Kail, Devdar and Surai. Then further trek down 3 km to road head Surai Thotha. Drive to Joshimath (30 km).

Overnight stay in hotel.

Distance : 8 Kms
Time taken : 4 hours trek

Day 12 : Joshimath to Rishikesh.

After relaxed breakfast, drive back to Rishikesh. Optional River Rafting in the Ganges near Rishikesh. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 13: Rishikesh to Delhi and depart

Drive back to Delhi.

After arrival in Delhi transfer to International Airport to board flight to onward destination.
